Following the teaser from last month, Vivo has finally officially unveiled its X50 series of devices. This consists of three devices, which are the standard X50, the X50 Pro, and the X50 Pro Plus. And it looks like the two Pro models have different highlights to them.
Starting with the Vivo X50 Pro Plus, this comes with a 6.56-inch Full HD+ 120Hz OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, and a 4350mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. The camera here consists of the Samsung GN1 50MP shooter for the main camera. This is accompanied by a 32MP portrait camera, a 13MP periscope camera and a 13MP wide angle camera.
As for the Vivo X50 Pro, we’re looking at the same 6.56-inch Full HD+ display, but the refresh rate only goes up to 90Hz. The chipset also takes a dip to the midrange, featuring a Snapdragon 765. As does the battery, which is slightly smaller at 4315mAh, and supports 33W fast charging. For cameras though, this model comes with a Sony IMX598 48MP shooter with a gimbal. This is accompanied by a 13MP portrait camera, an 8MP periscope camera and an 8MP wide angle camera.
And finally, there’s the base X50. It’s mostly similar to the X50 pro, but Vivo claims that this is the slimmest 5G phone. But that means some sacrifices have to be made for that to happen. This includes a smaller battery, at 4200mAh. The main camera is the same 48MP shooter, but it uses four-axis OIS instead.
The Vivo X50 Pro Plus starts with an 8GB + 128GB configuration, with a price of RMB4998 (~RM3015). This can go all the way up to a 12GB + 256GB config, but the price for this is not known as of yet. As for the X50 Pro, it only has 8GB of RAM, but storage options include a 128GB model for RMB4298 (~RM2592) and a 256GB model for RMB4698 (~RM2834). And the base X50 comes in at RMB3498 (~RM2110) for the 128GB model, and RMB3898 (~RM2351) for 256GB. No word on when these will be available outside of China, or on our shores, just yet.
