    Former PBB Pujut Women chief quits PBB to join PSB

    MIRI: Former Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pujut Women chief Lila Mohamad, who has been in politics for the past 44 years, quit PBB to join Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) today.

    Lila, who was also a former PBB Women Supreme Council member for 36 years, claimed that the political direction taken by GPS now was no longer relevant with the principles of politics to serve the people where not much effort to convince the process of rejuvenation has begun.

    “The political scene needs to be changed and we can no longer be doing our ‘job’ just to feed the top and with the new platform of PSB, the struggle is more relevant, “ Lila said when interviewed during the setting up of PSB Lambir protem committee today.

    Former PBB Pujut chief, Abu Bakar Amit was elected as PSB Lambir protem chairman while Lila Mohamad was elected as PSB Lambir deputy chairman.

    According to Lila to ensure the people that we suppose to serve to received the welfare fast and free health care treatment Free education and equality in job opportunity meaning to say everyone get something which PBB is slow in overseeing this prolong issues of the community.

    She said that it was not easy for her to take this decision to leave PBB and join PSB but the political scene needed to be changed and as a grassroot leader on the ground, her job is to give hope to the people that was not fulfilled by PBB.

    She claimed that she have seen the landscape of political development in Sarawak which the present GPS is not doing much to help the ordinary people on the ground which until today we are still lagging behind interm of development and progress especially the rural areas.

    She pointed that as grassroot leader we want everyone should get something and no one will get everything which is faced today in PBB.

    Lila who also previously served in the Miri City Council for 22 years stressed that as the representative of the party, they were the messenger between the people and our leaders.

    “At a grassroots level we are looking after people who hope we are not doing our job just to feed the top, but to ensure the people that we suppose to serve to received,“ she added further.

    Fast welfare, free healthcare and equality in job opportunity are what the people want and need our assistance and it is our responsibility to help them which is not done by the top leaders, she added.

    “I believe PSB struggle is more relevant to plan Sarawak direction to be more dynamic and progress for the people,” she said further.
