Intel Core i9-10850K CPU With 5.17GHz Boost Clock Reportedly In The Pipelines

Earlier in June, we took an in-depth look at the performance of Intel’s cream of the crop 10th Gen desktop CPU, the Core i9-10900K. Now, if rumours are to be believed, it seems that Intel may have another high-end consumer desktop processor in the works.

The CPU in question is reportedly called the Core i9-10850K and was first discovered by the Thai-based serial leakster, Apisak (@TUM_APISAK). Specifically, he found the CPU’s listing on GeekBench.

Based on the product benchmark details, the Core i9-10850K looks very similar to the Core i9-10900K; it sports a 10-cores, 20-threads layout and 20MB L3 Cache, with the main difference between the two being its base and boost clock. On paper, the Core i9-10850K has a base clock of 3.6GHz and boost clock of 5.17GHz.

On a side note, the page doesn’t mention the CPU’s TDP, but given the similarities with the Core i9-10900K’s specifications, we could be looking at a similar 125W consumption. Perfomance-wise, the CPU scored 6244 points on the single-core benchmark and 37794 on the multi-core test.

At the time of writing, there’s still no word as to when Intel plans to make the Core i9-10850K available to the general public, neither is there word on how much it would retail when it hits the market. Seeing how the Core i9-10900K already retails at an SRP of RM2499 in the country, it’s likely that Intel will price the CPU lower.
