With recent events developing due to rapid uncertainties across many countries, people are on the lookout for reliable news platforms to help them gain better insights on current developments in the world. Facebook is looking to provide just that by introducing an additional tab for news updates.
According to Facebook in their official blog post, the company said it was looking to spread the launch of their newly implemented News Tab to more countries between the next six months or one year. With this, Facebook users will now have a separate tab should they wish to be abreast of current news and updates.
At the time of writing, the company has revealed that Facebook is working on implementing this update internationally. However, as for now, the countries first in line to receive this update are the United Kingdom, Germany, France, India and Brazil.
Facebook will provide users with the latest developments by working with news publication companies within each country. The collaboration is done in order to have news contents distributed by these partnering companies for all FB users.
While Malaysia has not been included in the selected list of the countries above, there could be a significant chance of us receiving this update in the near future too. Considering the fact that India has already been included under Facebook’s radar, other countries within Asia could soon benefit from this update as well.
