New NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers Brings Stability To RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Graphics Cards

NVIDIA recently released new drivers for its GeForce cards today. The Game Ready 456.55 WQHL drivers supposedly bring stability and improved features to its GeForce RTX 30 series cards, specifically the RTX 3080.

Details regarding how the new drivers address the stability issue is scarce, but a posting on the GPU brand’s official forums and subreddit simply state that it was working closely with its AiB partners, and that issue surrounding the ratio of MLCC and POSCAP capacitors don’t necessarily dictate the performance and quality of a card.

Nearing the end of last week, reports began surfacing that different AiB partner cards – in this case, it was the RTX 3080 – were suffering from crash to desktop (CTD) issues when their cards hit or went over the 2GHz mark. The cause of this reportedly boiled down to the kind of capacitors – MLCC, POSCAP, or both in some instances – that were being used in the cards.

On a side note, the new driver also brings NVIDIA Reflex support, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone being the first titles that will benefit from the latency reduction tool. The other game that is set to benefit from the feature will be Star Wars: Squadron, which is slated for released on 2 October.
