MIRI (June 7): Preparations are in place for Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) Miri to serve as the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine immunisation centre starting today until July 27.

The preparation includes the setting-up of the registration area, wheelchair lane, appointment counters, observation counters, vaccination room, operations control room, electricity supply, and broadcasting systems.

Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) minister in charge Datuk Lee Kim Shin said those who have received their vaccination appointment ought to be present 30 minutes prior to their time stated on their MySejahtera application.

“Individuals who received their appointment notification through MySejahtera should come 30 minutes earlier, while those who have yet to receive their appointment are not allowed to walk-in,” he said during his visit to the facility yesterday.

“For those who have not registered, please do so immediately. If you don’t have access to the internet, you can register at district offices; through community leaders, Ketua Kaum, Ketua Kampung, Kapitan or Tuai Rumah; Miri City Council; or any nearby health clinic (for rural areas only),” he added.

Lee also reminded members of the public to continuously adhere to the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) and remain alert as well as vigilant to prevent the spread of the virus.

Among those present during his visit were MDDMC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, Miri Divisional Health Officer Dr P Raviwharmman, and Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong.
