DAP supports hospital’s molecular lab extension project

The extension for Miri Hospital molecular lab is underway.

MIRI (June 6): Democratic Action Party (DAP) Miri lauded ‘Kita Jaga Miri’ platform for its initiative to extend Miri Hospital’s molecular lab to further benefit the people here in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

DAP Miri Youth Chief Peter Hee in a press statement yesterday said the spike in Covid-19 positive cases in the division is worrying, therefore the extension project is crucial to expedite swab test results of person under investigation or surveillance (PUI/PUS).

“At the end of last month, DAP had donated RM10,000 which had been wired to the Advocates Association of Sarawak (AAS) Miri Branch.

“We are happy to contribute to the cause and hope they can raise sufficient funds as soon as possible to allow the project to be completed in timely manner,” said Hee.

The RM750,000-extension project of Miri Hospital Molecular lab started June 3 and is expected to be completed by June 11.

The ‘Kita Jaga Miri’ platform comprises Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers (Sheda) Miri, Rotary Club of Miri Oil Town (RCMOT), AAS Miri and the Federation of Miri Division Chinese Association Sarawak Youth.

Hee also added that DAP Miri pledged to continue reaching out to those in need especially during the challenging times of the pandemic.

Those who wish to donate in support of molecular lab can contact Sean Huang at 013-8300390 for more information.
