Dr Cheong: No ‘walk-in’ for vaccination at PPVAZ

    Dr Cheong Yaw Liang

KUCHING (June 10): Members of the public are advised not to turn up at the AstraZeneca Vaccination Centre (PPVAZ) here and in Miri as only those with prior appointments via MySejahtera application are accepted for vaccination.

The centre’s commander in-chief Dr Cheong Yaw Liang said those who ‘walk-in’ to the centre without any appointment would not be entertained for vaccination.

“There is no need for those without appointment to come. They must wait for their turns,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The AstraZeneca vaccines are administered at two centres in Sarawak, namely Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here and the National Youth Skills Institute in Miri.

Dr Cheong also called on the people to ignore any messages sent to them via WhatsApp asking for their personal details for vaccination purposes.

He said the vaccination centres did not use such platforms to inform the public on their vaccination schedule.
