KUCHING (June 29): The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has extended the submission deadlines of Tax Return Forms for several categories of taxpayers following the extension of the first phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
This initiative is to give taxpayers more time to prepare documents and tax information needed to be declared to LHDN.
Among the categories involved are taxpayers carrying out businesses involving individuals, partnerships, organisations, estates, and Hindu Joint Families, which will have until Aug 31.
Companies, co-operatives, limited liability partnerships, and trusts with an accounting period ending Oct 1, 2020 until December 31, 2020 will be given an extension time of two months from the due date of submission.
Companies, co-operatives, limited liability partnerships, and trusts with an accounting period ending Jan 1-31, 2021 will also get an extension of two months.
For returns forms for the year of assessment 2020 involving petroleum with an accounting period ending Oct 1, 2020 until Dec 31, 2020, there will also be an extension of two months from the due date of submission.
For returns forms for the year of assessment 2020 involving petroleum with an accounting period ending Jan 1-31, 2021, there will also be an extension time of two months from the due date of submission.
