SIBU (Aug 22): Dennis Lim and Kong Hung Teah emerged men and women’s champions respectively in the table tennis competition of the KTS 60th Anniversary Sports for Sibu area.
Finishing second and third were Chieng Cheu Hua and Christopher Ting (men) as well as Moh Wen Ching and Jeannie Lau (women).
A total of 16 staff members from different companies under the KTS group participated in the tournament organised by Kelab KTS at Sibu Table Tennis Association stadium yesterday.
It was officiated by Kelab KTS president Kevin Lau and took place from 9am until noon.
During the closing ceremony, Lau thanked the competitors for their participation.
“The competition is for the staff to bond … I think it is great that we can foster this relationship (among staff from) different companies under KTS Group,” he said.
The competition also served as a platform to select a team to compete in a later event to be held in Kuching this October.
Lau noted that the competition was also initiated by the KTS management to stress the importance of health among staff members.
Also present were Kelab KTS vice chairman Michael Ting and organising chairman Christopher Ting.
