KOTA KINABALU (June 28): Sabah will implement Phase One of Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan (NPR) beginning tomorrow (June 29), said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
Nevertheless, he said state government would maintain most of the standard operating procedures (SOP) under the current Movement Control Order 3.0 (MCO 3.0) in Sabah.
He said the social and economic activities allowed starting tomorrow included dine-in at restaurants, coffee shops and restaurants in hotel premises.
Roadside hawkers selling vegetables, fish and fruits, as well as hair salons would be allowed to operate as well, he said.
In addition, he said sports and recreational activities that did not involve physical contact such as exercises, golf, fishing and cycling were allowed.
Hajiji added that manufacturing activities allowed to operate would be expanded to include rubber, cement, paint, wood and furniture factories.
“Detailed SOP for Sabah will be issued soon,” he said.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced an extension of Phase One of Movement Control under the NRP on Sunday as the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has not dropped below the threshold value of 4,000 in order to transition to the next phase.
