MARUDI (Dec 18): The official result for Mulu constituency was put on hold and will only be announced today (Dec 19) after four out of 40 ballot boxes failed to reach the tallying centre at SMK Telang Usan hall here tonight due to bad weather.
The four ballot boxes are from Long Seridan (two channels), Long Linei and Sungai Belasoi (one channel each).
The helicopter that was supposed to fly in the ballot boxes could not land in the stations this afternoon.
Returning officer for Mulu Lolita Jaime Nicholas announced that the official results for the constituency will be made tomorrow.
As of 10.25pm tonight, incumbent Datuk Gerawat Gala of Gabungan Parti Sarawak held a comfortable lead with 3,387 votes, followed by Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Roland Engan with 759 votes.
