Nanta: GPS victory in state polls proof of people’s trust

KUCHING (Dec 18): Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) handsome victory at the 12th State Election is proof that the people believe in the manifesto and struggle of the coalition, said its secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

He said it was also the people’s trust in GPS, which has continued to focus on development in rural and urban areas in addition to achieving the state’s digital economy.

“First of all, it is clear that GPS’ victory this time around is very excellent and more than what was achieved in the 2016 state election.

“It is an improvement led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and our other GPS comrades,” he said when met after the announcement of results for the 12th State Election at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here.

Nanta, who is also PBB secretary-general, said even though GPS was constantly criticised by the opposition, the people still wanted the best government for the state.

He pointed out that development in Sarawak and the interests of the state, particularly the rights of Sarawak, should be given priority.

“This is the great attraction of GPS and the opposition has no capital because they can only focus on slanders which are baseless.

“The people are fed up with their outdated tactics and do not want their empty promises and it is for that reason they have failed to succeed,” he said.
